AI startup Sana has raised $55m in a round led by US-giant NEA, reaching a valuation of $500m. Menlo Ventures and other investors also participated in the round. The Swedish company, founded in 2016, has raised a total of $130m. Sana develops enterprise software it calls a “knowledge assistant”, which indexes company information, making it searchable and accessible to employees through the use of AI.

The £8m Longitude Prize has been won after a decade-long competition to find new tools to tackle the scourge of superbugs. It has been awarded for a test that rapidly detects whether an infection is caused by bacteria and identifies the right antibiotics to treat it. The test takes 45 minutes, compared with three days using traditional methods.The original work was done by Swedish researchers and the test is now being sold by the company Sysmex Astrego.

Moleculent AB, a company pioneering technology to study the communication between cells in human tissue, today announced the closing of its oversubscribed $26 million Series A financing. The round was led by ARCH Venture Partners (ARCH) and co-led by Eir Ventures with participation from the company’s existing investors. ARCH’s Patrick Weiss has been appointed Chairman. Sean Kendall from ARCH, together with Magnus Persson from Eir Ventures, have also joined the company’s Board of Directors.
